Little Miss Pickett back when she was at the SPCA.

Little Miss Pickett back when she was at the SPCA and so timid.

A story about Pickett from her adopter Michelle:

In December 2012, I adopted a wonderful treeing walker coonhound named “Sophia” with you guys, now named “Pickett”.  She is enjoying life on the farm here in Maryland and loves her coonie brother and sister!

I remember when I picked her up the girl said at the shelter she was also known as “pretty pink nose”. She was absolutely terrified of people, but especially men and also gun shots.

I work for a vet, so I took Pickett in ASAP and got all of her shots, a good dewormer, the works!  She put on about 20 pounds after being dewormed and is just beautiful!

It took a lot of treats and work from my dad and boyfriend, but she has now bonded with them and now can’t stay away from people when they visit!

She is so gentle and loves nothing more than little kids and days spent at the park near our house.

It has been great to see her overcome her fears and learn that it’s ok to enjoy life!
